2022 Bendigo Cup – Friendly Sprints – PV 5KM report

2022 Bendigo Cup – Friendly Sprints – PV 5KM report

It was very pleasing to see 120 paddlers on the water after challenging times!
This year there has been many challenges for Victorian paddlers and clubs, due to weather and the devastating floods Victoria have endured.  Many events have been cancelled

To our surprise we had 120 entries for the friendly sprints – PV 5km events on Saturday 19th November held at Crusoe Reservoir.

The venue was our third option after having water quality issues at Lake Weeroona and flooding on the Loddon River, however it proofed to be most successful.

We have been  busy with negotiating access arrangements with the council (thanks CoGB), towing infrastructure to the event, providing the morning tea for all participants, providing volunteers to run the event and on-water safety throughout the day, supporting the event through paddler participation, and running their training programs in advance to prepare their juniors for competition. We had 55 members involved on the day.

Many thanks goes to John Young (Marathon Chair), Glenn Parkhill, the sprint committee, all the paddlers, parents, our lovely volunteers &  morning tea crew.
