Are you interested in the Barwon River and its health?

Environment Victoria invites you to attend the launch of its Your River: Barwon website at Barwon Heads on Sunday October 22 at 2pm.

Your River captures the stories of people who love and care for their rivers, from fishermen and canoeists, to farmers and field naturalists.

From its headwaters in Otways National Park, through Geelong to the mouth at Barwon Heads, the Barwon river connects us all.

Whether it be as a water source for our crops and towns, a fishing spot, or simply a tranquil place to sit and listen to the birds we all rely upon the Barwon River to provide clean water, abundant fish and flourishing bird life.

But the Barwon is in trouble.  Lack of flow, pollution, run-off, erosion and a lack of vegetation, are all contributing to a decline in the river's health.

Come along on October 22 to meet people working to restore the Barwon's health and celebrate the artery of the Geelong region,  the Barwon River.

Environment Victoria is working to protect the future of our precious rivers. For more information about the Healthy Rivers campaign, visit www.environmentvictoria.org.au or [click here] for the information flyer

RSVP by Thursday 19th October.
