Paddle Kew Event – 25th March

 
Canoeing Victoria will be hosting "Paddle Kew" as part of the 2007 Kew Festival.

Paddle Kew consists of an a Kayak race as part of the Yarra Descent lead up race, a Come & Try and a Canoe Polo Exhibition game all to inspire Kew residents and the Victorian Communities to utilise their valuable natural asset, the Yarra River.

Kayak Race (Kew Yarra Descent Leadup Race).

When:            Sunday – 25th March
Bellbird Picnic area, Kew (Melways 2D K6)
to HAWTHORN ROWING SHEDS cnr Bridge/Church and Burwood Rds, Kew. (not Carey Boat sheds as previously advised) with compulsory portage around Dights falls.

This event is a familiarisation race for the Yarra Descent which will be held in September 2007.

Registration    8.00am
Briefing:         8.30am
Start:              9.00am
Entry fee:        $15 Canoeing Victoria Members, $20 non Members.

Participants will be start at 2 min intervals to avoid congestion at Dights falls.

Come and Try

Where:        Bellbird Picnic Area
Cost            $15 per person with all equipment included.
Time:           2 x 1hr sessions 11am – 1pm

Canoe Polo Exhibition game:

Where:         Between Kane's bridge and Studley park boat house.
When:          Sunday 23rd March
Time:            11am – 12 noon
