2 February – Coaches Professional Development Workshop

8 & 9 February – Intermediate First Aid

 

Delivered by the Australian Red Cross, this course teaches the fundamental principles, knowledge and skills to enable the first aider to provide emergency care for injuries and illnesses, in the home or the workplace. This level of first aid is the minimum required for Australian Canoeing coach & instructor accreditation.

 

Canoeing Victoria, Templestowe. $100 members / $185 non members.

 

8 & 9 February – CPR Refresher

 

Delivered by the Australian Red Cross, this course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest. 3-4 hours

16 February – Safety & Risk Management Workshop

 

A must for coaches, instructors & event coordinators.  This practical workshop will focus on assisting participants to complete the Australian Canoeing (AC) Safety Checklist.  The checklist addresses the minimum standard recommended by AC to ensure safety during both competition and training activities. Coaches earn 6 points towards re-accreditation.

16 & 17 February – Level 1 Flatwater Instructor Training

 

The instructional Awards have been devised to give an instructor at least the minimum level of competence to operate as an instructor in the outdoor recreation industry. This level of competence is Australian CanoeingÕs recommended standard, using Units of Competence from the Outdoor Recreation Training Package.
