The Victorian Slalom Technical Committee will be standing down and we will hold our General Elections for representation on this Committee into the future.
Nominations are sought from all members to either the role of Chair of the Victorian Slalom Technical Committee or as a general member of this group. The role of Chair will need to be endorsed by Canoeing Victoria after the elections but this is not seen to be an issue.
We would like to see the broadest possible representation from the Slalom Committee to ensure the direction the sport takes in Victoria into the future is in alignment with the wishes of the community. This representation could be directed towards the needs / wishes of specific communities within our Sport – such as paddlers (elite/developing/new paddlers), parents, officials, clubs, schools or just those with a general interest in the sport.
The challenge to us all is to create a representative group seeking to deliver the best possible outcome for the sport in general.
The AGM will be held at the Canoeing Victoria facilities at Westerfolds Park, Templestowe, on Monday night – August 24th commencing at 7pm. We have created a calendar entry for nominations – please enter your nominations prior to the meeting.
In line with the Constitution of Canoeing Victoria, voting will be decided by a show of hands unless a poll is demanded by the Chair of the AGM or by the majority of members present. Proxy voting is not permitted.
It is not essential that all nominees are physically present on the night – the nomination form requires the nominee has sought the approval of those nominated for roles on the STC as part of the nomination process.
