Nominations for Sprint Discipline Positions

The Victorian Sprint Development Plan has set the overall direction for the Sprint Discipline over the next three years.  Canoeing Victoria is calling for volunteers to be part of the management of the discipline and running of sprint competitions.  If you would like to be part of this exciting direction, please nominate for one of the positions below or suggest an alternative position where you can contribute. 

Note that volunteers will not be expected to attend regular committee meetings or to attend all competitions.  Development Team positions will report directly to a Canoeing Victoria Co-Executive Officer.  Event Team volunteers will have the opportunity to nominate the events at which you would like to volunteer.  Training/mentoring will be provided where required. 

Development Team Volunteers

  • State Team Touring Manager
  • Equipment Manager
  • Communications Manager
  • Safety Risk Manager

Event Team Volunteers

  • Chief Official
  • Event Manager/Technical Director
  • Safety Officer
  • Competition Secretary 
  • General Officials including:
    • Registration
    • Scrutineer
    • Starter/Start Aligner
    • Timekeeper & Finish Line Judges
    • Results Compiler
    • Boat number volunteers
    • Safety/Rescue Powerboat Drivers
    • Safety/Rescue Boat Volunteers
