Lead by Vivienne Cherney from the Kirinari Kayak Club, the day looks to be a great one to get out and try some moving water or just have a fun day out.
Don’t have a suitable boat? No sweat. Canoeing Victoria is happy to lend you one of their boats stored out at Westerfolds Park. If you indicate on your registration of interest that you need a boat and equipment, we will be in contact to organise pickup. You can even borrow an open Canadian canoe if you want to go with a friend. It is an easy trip in one of those!
• Sunday 15th February.
• Meet at Jumping Creek at 9.15am to enable a car shuffle. (Boats will be dropped off at the start and cars will be taken to Warrandyte then paddlers shuffled back to the start).
• Plastic boats (Plastic sea kayaks, river boats etc) or specific rapid boats (Such as down river boats) are suitable for this river ramble. If you have indicated that you need to borrow a boat and helmet, you will be contacted by the Canoeing Victoria office to organise pickup from the Canoeing Victoria Boat shed at Westerfolds Park.
Checklist to bring:
• PFD, Helmet, Paddle, DECK and BOAT !
• Sense of adventure.
