2016 Victorian Canoe Marathon Winter Series results and points standing

The race results and series points standing after the WS2 race at Warrnambool are available on Webscorer and are attached.

To refresh everyone’s memory, race points for 2016 are earned based on each paddler’s handicap results. The handicap adjusts for age, gender, craft type and distance paddled to give an apples-to-apples comparison. Points are assigned based on each paddler’s speed as a percentage of the winning time: the winner gets 100 points and a paddler who paddles at, say, 80% of the winning speed gets 80 points.

Given the WS1 race was cancelled the series standing will be based on the best three out of five races (rather than the best four out of six races).
