Canoeing Victoria will be running a Canoe /Kayak Lifeguard Training course on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September 2017
Holders of the Canoe/Kayak Lifeguard award are qualified to manage a paddling activity in enclosed situations, performing rescues as required, where the group under supervision can be seen from a single vantage point at any time and does not leave the immediate launch area.
This course is open to Club Members and members of the public.
Participants must be over the age of 15.
Participants are to have the AC Flatwater Skills Award or have equivalent skills and knowledge prior to commencing this course
A reasonable level of physical fitness is required for the activities that this course is designed to support.
The training course and assessment takes place over two days of approximately eight hours.
This course is perfect for members of the club who would like to take an introduction paddling program or PaddlePower Session at the club.
The cost of the training is $260.00. They will then need to register with Australian Canoeing for $75 for 3 years.
All equipment will be provided.
