Canoe Slalom Training Camp Brady’s Lake
March 7th, 8th & 9th 2020
This camp is aimed to support those paddlers who are wanting to train at a high level but who fall outside of the support of national teams and squads.
This camp is a water availability weekend for those paddlers wanting to improve their slalom skills on the challenging grade 4 level whitewater of Brady’s Lake.
It is aimed at grade 4 paddlers, however there are 4 positions available to high level grade 3 paddlers. There will be an NDS camp running in parallel to this camp.
The camp organisers are providing coaching and coordination of sessions, the organisers are not providing travel or accommodation.
Camping will be available on site or accommodation can be found at nearby Tarraleah, Bronte Park or Air BnB at Brady’s Lake.
Saturday March 7th
9.00am to 10.00am- Course set up
11.00am to 1.00pm- Course familiarisation- Open courses- Trying multiple moves
2.30pm to 4.00pm- Tech Mellifont Street- Boat speed timing and balance
Sunday March 8th
11.00am to 1pm- FLR- One timed and scored run and extras on a new course
3.00pm to 5pm-Tech- Keeping boat speed
Monday March 9th
10.30am to 12.30pm-Exploration of ways to create boat speed.
1.30pm to 2.30pm-Using lessons and applying them to courses
