2021 Victorian Canoe Slalom Age Championships

ONLINE ENTRIES CLOSE at 9pm, Wednesday 6th January 2021. 

Paddle Victoria, in conjunction with the Victorian Slalom Technical Committee are pleased to announce the 2021 Victorian Canoe Slalom Age Championships, to replace the National Age Championships. This event is only possible with the commitment of many volunteers and the cooperation of canoeing clubs, schools, the Slalom Technical Committee, OEG, Murrindindi Shire Council, Statewide River and Stream Management and the Murray Goulburn Water Authority.

All classes are available, subject to a minimum of 3 entries – K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W, C2M, C2W and C2Mx. Championship Entry Fee is $60, which covers individual and team events. A $20 late fee applies after the closing date of 9pm, Wednesday 6th January.

There are school and club trophies as well as individual age group awards.

Schedule:

• Friday 15th January: Free practice in allocated sessions, Course setting and Demos
• Saturday 16th January: Qualification and Age Group Championship, All Ages – best of two runs. Vic BBQ dinner.
• Sunday 17th:  A & B Finals & Teams event (1 run only)

Remember to stay home if you or your spectators have:

• a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste, flu like symptoms, diarrhoea or vomiting,
• have recently returned from overseas, or
• have been in contact with someone who may have been exposed to COVID-19 or in contact with someone exhibiting symptoms in the past 2 weeks

Age categories are calculated automatically and results are based on the best of 2 runs on Saturday. The 10 fastest paddlers from each class, across all age groups, will be selected into the A final to determine the overall All Age Champion. All remaining paddlers may participate in the B final.
