Dear Marathon paddling community,
PV Marathon is running the “Spring back into paddling” program to encourage you to keep active during the ongoing restrictions.
The program offers 100 spot prizes for paddlers who keep active for the next two months.
The rules are as follows:
- Open to all paddlers. Entry is free. Prizes for Paddle Vic members.
- Runs from 6th September to 31st October 2021.
- Paddle as exercise within the restrictions applying to your area. If you can’t paddle, use an ergo, ride a bike or run. Keep active.
- Every PV member who completes the challenge goes into a draw for 100 spot prizes (*):
a. 1 session per week (8 sessions in total): PV Marathon paddling cap
b. 2 sessions per week (16 sessions in total): PV Marathon LS tee
c. 3 sessions per week (24 sessions in total): PV Marathon paddling top
d. 4+ sessions per week (32+ sessions in total): PV Marathon hoodie or rugby jumper, your choice
- * The fine print:
a. Anyone can participate, but you need to be a Paddle Vic member to go in the prize draw: as much as we would like to help everyone, we don’t have the resources to do so.
b. If you are a PV member but haven’t paddled in a PV Marathon race this year (2021) your prize will be a voucher for free entry into a PV Marathon race next year, rather than a cap, tee or top.
c. Each session, on average, needs to be at least one hour. 5 minutes on the ergo won’t cut-it.
d. You can make up missed sessions: you don’t have to do a minimum number of sessions every week.
e. However, you need to record your progress each week on Webscorer. If you don’t record progress for that week then those sessions won’t count. We’ll publish a progress chart every week so you can see how you are going.
Wait until Sunday to record your activity for the week.
Post a selfie or GPS plot on the Facebook event page along the way for posterity.
We’ll finish with a celebration barbecue or similar at the end (when restrictions allow): this might be in multiple metro and regional locations.
