The Victorian Slalom and Wildwater Technical Committees welcomes all paddlers, volunteers and officials to the 2022 Victorian School Championships to be held on the Yarra River as a single day event.
Slalom:
Fitzsimons Lane Bridge, Templestowe
Wildwater:
Classic Race: Sweeneys Lane to Fitzsimmons Lane Bridge. Wildwater Sprints at Fitzsimmons Lane Bridge
Due to high water levels in September, the decision was made to move the event to October for safety reasons.
Slalom starts the program on Sunday morning using the rapids at Fitzsimons Lane for competition.
Wildwater will be run in the afternoon starting with sprint races at Fitzsimons Lane Bridge followed by a classic starting at Sweenys Lane and finishing at the Fitzsimons Lane bridge.

Slalom:
8:15 am Bib Distribution
8:30 am Competitors safety briefing, followed by volunteer/officials briefing
9:00 am Race start – 2 runs per athlete per class
12:30 pm Course dismantled
Wildwater:
12:30 pm Competitors Briefing at Fitzsimons Lane
1:00 pm Sprint Run – 1 run per competitor
2:00 pm Classic Race start – 1 run per competitor
3:30 pm Presentation (Or as soon as the results are finalized)
We look forward to a day of fun competition that is aimed at encouraging friendship and fostering inter-school and club competition on a state level with a view of increasing junior participation within the sport. Our aim is to provide an environment where young athletes can perform to the best of their abilities, be that at the elite or development level.
