Statement regarding behavioural incident at Eildon Master’s and Junior’s Australian Championships event.
There was an incident involving a Paddle Vic board member and some race officials at a recent event at Goulbourn River at Eildon. There was a dispute which resulted in some yelling and swearing by the board member. The board member has since apologised to the officials.
This is clearly totally and absolutely unacceptable behaviour. No official should ever be treated with disrespect.
The board reminds all paddlers, parents and spectators that it is never acceptable under any circumstance to abuse an official –ever.
The board member concerned has been reprimanded and the membership protection process has been enacted. As the board of Paddle Victoria, we deeply regret this incident and assure you that the board continues to strive to promote and to look after the welfare of all of those involved in our sport.
Please see link to membership protection policy that covers all paddlers, parents, coaches , officials, Board Members and staff.

Sincerely
Paul Grant
President
Paddle Victoria
