Day one of the Victorian Schools Whitewater saw the Downriver event being run from Griffiths Park to Westerfolds Park – a distance of 2 km. 66 entrants ranging from 9 to 18 entered. It was a glorious spring day and the recent rains on Thursday had lifted the water level to 0.87 m at Fitzsimons Lane guage which meant that there was plenty of water coverage at the Griffiths Park main rapid.

Note: Three entries with two starters were required to constitute a class. Juniors could not be moved to a senior age group. The results contain the entrants year age based on 2018-DOB year and the actual race age that there result is based on.
These events don’t happen without a lot of support from parents. I would like to thank Lyne Strmecki for all her hard work with handling entries and starting lists.
