The downriver race from Jumping Creek to Warrandyte is the first day of a two day event which finishes with the slalom competition at Warrandyte on Sunday.
The river level was 0.8m which meant that most of the rocks were covered on the rapid above Warrandyte. 95 paddlers are involved in the weekend in a variety of craft (K1, C1 and C2).
