Victorian Slalom Championships

Despite low water, the 2008 Victorian Slalom Championships held the weekend of the 28th and 29th of November were a resounding success.

Seventy five paddlers competed across a number of individual, C2, and teams events over the two days. In addition to our Victorian paddlers, competitors from interstate and overseas journeyed to the Goulburn to provide great sport. The level of competition was very high as a result and our medallists and champions are to be congratulated for their achievements.

Our Carnival Champions were:
MK1     Warwick Draper
LK1     Sarah Grant
MC1     Christian Fabris
LC1     Rosalyn Lawrence
C2     Chris and Scott Guinea
Detailed results can be found in the Calendar entry for the event.

We would like to express our particular thanks to the over forty people who contributed to running the event – in start, judging, radio operators, finish, compiling and the overall event organisation. Congratulations especially to Ruth Hardman in the successful conduct of her first major carnival as Event Organiser. Without the support of these stalwarts, this event would not have happened and we would like to recognise and acknowledge this support.

Congratulations also to those that took the opportunity to participate in the Judges Course over the weekend.
