Congratulations to Victorian Sprint athletes on a successful Australian Championships

Congratulations to Victorian Sprint athletes on a successful season with promising results at the Australian Sprint Championships held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre last week.

Athletes from Victoria competed in most age groups and in both Kayaks and Canoes at the event with many participants making A finals and medaling in various events.
Victorian para canoe athlete Amanda J Reynolds had a very strong regatta and won a number of Australian Sprint titles and competed in the open womens k4 events.
Victorian athletes were particularly successful in the long distance events of the Sprint Championships with many athletes medaling. Rebacca Mann won gold in the open womens 5000m event, Oliver James placed second and Logan Dutton fourth in the open male 5000m event and in the u16 2500m events Chelsea Beale came 3rd and Sean Jones also came 3rd in the male event with Joseph Burton finishing 4th.
Overall it was a very successful regatta for Victorian athletes and we look forward to seeing flatwater sprint kayaking continue to grow in the future.

Thank you to Dean Jones for the photo of Victorian canoe athlete Reka Abraham.
