Following the departure of Canoeing Victoria’s Executive Officer, Sharon Swoboda has agreed to manage the position in the short term as Acting Executive Officer while the Board undertake a recruitment process.
Sharon has a long history with Canoeing Victoria and has previously played a role as Co-Executive officer in developing a new strategic direction for Canoeing Victoria, in her reassessment of the office function and the accounting system, in setting realist budgets and managing our finances, and in extending the support that Canoeing Victoria provides to our member clubs. She has most recently been a valued team member working on several Canoeing Victoria projects including Women in Canoeing and PaddleHub. Sharon is an active member of her local Scout group and participates in several volunteer activities within her family’s school and sporting activities.
We are excited to be working under the leadership of Sharon while the Board make progress on the search for a new Executive Officer. Her previous experience has already shown to be invaluable in supporting the Canoeing Victoria activities during this time of transition.
