Sharon Swoboda resigns as Canoeing Victoria Co-Executive Officer

I am sad to announce that, after a productive eleven years of service – the last six as Co-Executive Officer – Sharon Swoboda recently submitted her resignation.

Sharon will be a hard act to follow.  Sharon was particularly effective in developing a new strategic direction for Canoeing Victoria, in her reassessment of the office function and the accounting system, in appointing key people to achieve their assigned goals, in setting realist budgets and managing our finances, and in extending the support that Canoeing Victoria provides to our member clubs.

Space does not permit the listing of all Sharon's achievements but to put it briefly, she was easy to work with, very efficient, highly motivated and a high achiever; Sharon will be sorely missed as one of our Co-EOs but, hopefully, we will see her around the canoeing community for many years to come.

With the departure of Sharon, in the short term Andrea Boothroyd has agreed to continue to manage the full executive load.  I would ask all members to continue to give Andrea every assistance and your wholehearted support.
