Victorian Whitewater School Championships 2012

The Victorian Schools Down River and Slalom is one of the biggest slalom events held in Australia each year with over 130 entries this year. This event
has been the start of many of Australias top slalom paddlers and Olympic representatives.
 
This year marked  the 38th year in succession of this event being run and was held in magnificent sunshine on the Yarra at Warrandyte in excellent water conditions.
Ivanhoe Grammar was again the outright winner in the large school class, with Ivanhoe Girls Grammar taking out the medium schools class and Eltham
College the small schools. With Ivanhoe Grammar winning the Boys trophy and Ivanhoe Girls Grammar the Girls Trophy.
 
This year saw a number of new schools participating and many new younger paddlers tacking the 18 gate slalom course.
