Sunday 10th September 2023: Fitzsimons Lane Bridge, Templestowe
The Victorian Slalom and Wildwater Technical Committees invite all paddlers attending schools in Victoria to participate in the 2023 Victorian Schools Canoe Slalom and Wildwater Championships.
The aim of the event is to provide an environment where young athletes can perform to the best of their abilities, be that at the elite or development level and encouraging friendship and fostering inter-school and club competition on a state level with a view of increasing junior participation within the sport.
EVENT PROGRAM
Thursday 7th September
9:00 pm Entries Close (No Entries Will Be Accepted on Race Day)
Friday 8th September
9:00 pm Start lists issued
Saturday 9th September
2:00 pm Construction of slalom course at Fitzsimons Lane Bridge (Volunteers required, please help)
4:00 pm Slalom Demonstration Runs
5:00 pm Course open to junior competitors for one practice run (Under 14 and below only)
Sunday 10th September
Slalom Race
8:15 am Bib Distribution
8:30 am Competitors Race and Safety briefing, followed by volunteer/officials briefing
9:00 am Race start – 2 runs per athlete per class
12:30 pm Course dismantled and set up for WW Sprints
Wildwater Race
1:00 pm Competitors Race and Safety briefing, followed by volunteer/officials Briefing
1:30 pm Race Start – Sprint Event, 2 runs per athlete. Open to all boat types.
2:30 pm Course Pack Up, Slalom Gates Reset
3:30 pm Presentation
Entry Information
Slalom: $20.00 (maximum of 2 classes ie K1, C1, C2)
Wildwater: $10.00 (maximum of 1 class ie K1, C1, C2)
These fees apply to members of Paddle Australia/Paddle Victoria. For non-members: as above plus $11 for PA Junior Single Event Non-Member Fee.
