CPRT dominate the Interclub Polo Challenge

Victorian Canoe Polo Interclub Challenge

After a week of wild and woolly weather, Saturday, 18th November 2006, bought a day of sunshine and the return of the Victorian Canoe Polo Interclub Challenge.

Up for grabs was the trophy designed and crafted by Fred Jordan.  Essendon had dominated the competition in the previous 3 events Ð would they be challenged in 2006?

Nine teams competed: 3 Open and 6 Intermediates/Women.  Three (3) teams each represented Essendon and CPRT (Canoes Plus Racing Team) with WHCC and Bohica also in the challenge.  Results would depend on the teamsÕ positions at the end of the competition.

In the Open category ECC were surrounded by 2 CPRT teams.  The final between CPRT and ECC ended when Matt Perrin threw the winning goal during time-on golden goal.  The intermediate semi-final was also a clash between and ECC and CPRT team with victory again going to CPRT.   CPRT were then defeated in the final against a team of mixed (experienced Ð not aged) players.

Congratulations to Larry Robb for organizing the competition with assistance from Mike Wilson and Brenda Stork.   Also thanks to ECC for the use of the facilities and support they have shown to Canoe Polo
