Slalom National Development Camp and Country Series 3 Results

The 2014 National Slalom Development Camp was held over the weekend on the Goulburn River in Eildon, Victoria – the site for the upcoming 2015 National Slalom Championships in January.

The camp was organised by triple Olympian Warwick Draper from Melbourne Canoe Club and was a great success with 58 participants and 13 coaches.

Lead Coach Zlatan Ibrahimbegovic from Western Australia provided great experience and insight, and his talk on his journey through the sport was a major highlight. The impressive coaching team were also joined by current Senior National Team Member Jaxon Merritt, who added a real buzz to the camp with some skilled displays on the water. Merritt gave a notable presentation showcasing his insights into current world class paddling which included video footage of the K1 Men race winners from all the 2014 World Cups and the World Championships.

The camp concluded with the Country Series Race 3 where the participants were able to put their newly acquired skills and knowledge to the test. Results can be found below.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped throughout the race – we cannot run these events without you!
